FAQ

IS KETAMINE THERAPY LEGAL?

Ketamine is legal for medical use in the United States and select countries across the world.

The use of ketamine is regulated, meaning it can only be administered or prescribed by licensed clinicians with the authority and expertise to support its effective use.

DOES THIS THERAPY WORK?

Evidence from peer-reviewed, double-blind research over decades has shown that lower doses of ketamine prescribed in a clinical and therapeutic setting can provide benefits for depression and anxiety symptoms, among other mental health considerations.

Ketamine’s antidepressant and anti-anxiety benefits are related to enhanced neuroplasticity, or the ability of brain cells to form new connections with one another. The effects of ketamine therapy can be long-lasting, and often require shorter courses of treatment than medications like antidepressants.

Therapeutic ketamine sessions, when prescribed and monitored by a licensed clinician, have the potential to facilitate incredible breakthroughs in the mental health of clients and patients who go through these treatments.

Ketamine is legal, safe, well-tolerated, and effective. This is due to decades of history in clinical and surgical environments, structures and systems in place for quality control, prescription and clinician regulations.

ARE THERE CONTRADICATIONS?

Ketamine used for mental health is administered at sub anesthetic doses (small doses). Some of the contraindications are elevated blood pressure, irregular heart beat, thyroid problems and elevated intra cranial pressure. We will go over any possible contraindications over the phone when booking your appointment as well as a full evaluation of your current medical status when you arrive at the office.

HOW SOON CAN I EXPECT RESULTS?

Ketamine infusion produces an immediate boost in the mood. This effect lasts about 48 hours. Ketamine promotes neuroplasticity, which is new neuronal connections. This effect lasts approximately 2 weeks if no integration is taking place. Ketamine effects combined with integration therapy can extend the effects for longer periods of time. Ketamine therapy with integration is an innovative approach to many mental health problems. Ketamine is not addictive and very safe when used under medical supervision.

HOW LONG ARE APPOINTMENTS?

Each session last approximately 2 hours. Ketamine infusions for chronic pain can last 4 hours. The sessions can take longer, depending on your personal reaction to the treatment.

CAN I GO TO WORK THAT DAY?

We strongly recommend you do not return to work the day of the infusion. After a Ketamine infusion you will be in a different mindset and it is an excellent opportunity to explore your emotions, your memories and explore the new pathways to navigate your life.
